Cornwall: A Photo Diary

Hello, lovelies!

Wow, been a while, huh?

Just a quick little photo diary of my holiday in Cornwall this week. It was my first time there in almost 6 years, and I wish I could find words to say how much I had missed it. Fresh air, stars, sea-side, and amazing fudge, Cornwall really is one of the most beautiful places.

I was down visiting my best friend for her birthday, and even though a 10 hour train ride each way seems like some form of modern torture, it was the most relaxing week I've had in a long time.

Becoming A Mother... Kind Of.

Hello, lovelies!

If you're wondering why I appeared to have dropped off the face of the Earth, it is because I have become a mother. Well, kind of. I got two kittens. But they're hard work, I'll have you know!

Their names are Pepsi and Poppet, and they're just the sweetest little boys in the whole world. In fact, Poppet is asleep on my lap whilst I write this.

As I'm planning to move into my own flat sometime early next year, my mum and I figured that getting me two kittens now and having them almost a year old by the time I move would be the best bet, rather than have me trying to get everything sorted AND trying to litter train them (although, silver lining - these little angels picked it up so quickly I needn't have really worried.)

Of course, since they're babies, they haven't slept a whole night through yet, so I'm pretty much up every couple of hours with them, but they're so cute, I can't be mad at them.

So, yes, I just thought I'd update you guys and let you know that I haven't disappeared, I'm still kicking, and I'm somewhat an adopted mother now.

I'll see you next time, then.

Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease Hair Mask Review

Hello, lovelies!

I apologize for my absence, as usual things got super hectic, my laptop broke and I was busy seeing concerts and being ridiculously unwell, but I'm back!

What a better come back than a Lush review, am I right?

I picked this up the last time I was in my local Lush store, as I'm looking to improve the condition of my hair before I cut it all off to donate it to The Little Princess Trust. The woman I dealt with in the shop was incredibly helpful and lovely, and as soon as I told her my plans, she swiped this up off the shelf.

For roughly £10.98 the jasmine and henna fluff-ease treatment is fantastic for more red toned, fluffy/curly, dry hair. I naturally have very dry, curly hair, and this has managed to keep it at bay with blow-drying, and paired with some Argon oil I've had absolute no trouble with dry ends the past few times I've washed my hair, and I've only used it twice!

It recommends that you only keep it on for 20 minutes, but if you want a serious deep treatment you can keep it on for as long as you like - the woman who sold me it said she kept it on all night, her hair must love her.

After applying it thickly, and I mean thickly, I twist my hair up into a top-knot and go about whatever I'm doing. Usually it's just tidying, or I'll even go chill in a bath with a face-mask on and go all out with the self-pampering. I leave it on for roughly an hour to two hours, just letting it work its magic in the absolute birds nest I call my hair. Washing it off is as simple as it could get, run your hair under warm water and the shampoo and condition as normally, easy as pie!

Over all, I was skeptical about Lush's hair masks before I tried this, but I now have nothing bad to say against them. Or, this one at least.

Quick, short, and sweet. Much like myself.

I'll see you next time, then.

YAYER Wishlist

Hello, lovelies!

Recently, I came across the shop YAYER online. Absolutely instantly I fell in love, and I thought what better way to show some of their amazing products off than to make a wishlist? You guys know how much I love making lists. Not only do they do amazing clothes, they also offer beautiful accessories, and to die for shoes, so if you would like to check them out, I have linked the products under the pictures, but also HERE.

1. Chaser Dress

I love love love summer dresses, but I always find them a little bit too tight for my liking. This dress is so lovely and floaty that I feel like it would do me perfectly for the mid-July humidity. Can't have any clingy fabric on you when you could swear you're closer to the sun than is really comfortable, can you?

2. Dye Kimono

This was the very first product I fell in love with when I went onto the website. I, sadly, only own one kimono and I wear it to absolute death during the summer months, so having another one to mix  things up sometimes would be fantastic. The fringe detail on the sleeves of this really drew my eye, always love a good bit of fringing.

3. Trashed Jeans

Now, if you ask my mother if I really need another pair of jeans, she'll say absolutely not. However, if you ask me, I'll say I absolutely do. Especially when they're as gorgeous as these! I would wear them towards the end of summer, when it starts to cool down in the evenings, (or, y'know, now, because it's absolutely tipping rain outside.) Big rips in both knees, and other fabric destruction make these jeans look utterly irresistible to me.

4. Noise Shirt

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good shirt. In my March wishlist (?) I talked about one of Drop Deads shirts that I was absolutely dying for (update: I still don't have it) but now we can add this one on too. With a very loud print, it stands out without being too garish. It's like, feature wall wallpaper, not your Gran's kitchen wallpaper.

5. Cage Bikini

In hopes that, maybe, at some point this summer the weather will look up and I could actually have the chance to visit a beach, I've kept my eyes on this little beauty. To be honest, I'd wear this regardless of the weather outside. I could totally do house-work in this, simply because I would never want to take it off.

YAYER really offer everything lovely and wonderful. They match my taste perfectly, and I could not recommend them enough. Seriously. Go look. You'll fall in love as quickly as I did.

I'll see you next time, then.

Spring Look Book 2015

Hello, lovelies!

Since the good weather has decided to make an appearance, I roped one of my friends into helping me shoot my Spring look book, because if I didn't, who knew when the good weather would be back for long enough for me to get this done.

I won't ramble, I'll try to keep this short and sweet, and I'll try to keep a majority of it pictures, but here we go!

Outfit 1

Blinded by the very rare Scottish sunshine!

My dungarees are from Primark (seriously, such a steal at only £14,) my shirt is from New Look, and my shoes are converse.

 Outfit 2

I posted about this shirt in my "What's In My Carry On" post, so if you want the link for it, it's there, and I paired it with a pair of thigh high socks, and my chunky New Look boots.

Outfit 3

Outfit 3 is my high waisted denim shorts from about three years ago, (thank you, eBay,) paired with a cut up Iron Maiden top, my black vans and a floaty, flouncy, rather summery cardigan type... thing. Primark, again.

Outfit 4

Again, I've posted about these jeans before! In my Anna Saccone inspired OOTD, so all the details on them are there, but the top is also from New Look, and the shoes this time are from Bank, who unfortunately no longer have a website, but still have a few little stores open around the UK.

Outfit 5

The top in this outfit is from New Look, I got it as part of a dress/crop top set but I know they do them on their own for about £4. My jeans are from Boohoo, and my shoes are converse, again.

Well my loves, that's my Spring 2015 look book! I'm sorry if the photos are a bit all over the place, blogger has a serious issue with them apparently.

Regardless, I hope you enjoyed, and if you would rather see this in video form, you can find it on my YouTube channel which is linked at the side of my blog, or I'll put the video down below!

I'll see you next time, then.

The Little Things

Hello, lovelies.

Life for me recently has been nothing but stress on top of stress, on top of travelling, on top of just general busy life. Sometimes when things get really hectic I find it hard to concentrate on the little things that make every day special and worth getting out of bed for.

I guess I'm making this post as a reminder to myself, and to you, that every day is filled to the brim with little bits and pieces of beautiful that add into one big picture, one big crazy, hectic, gorgeous, colourful, loud, wild, roller coaster of a picture.

So, without further babbling, here is the aforementioned list:

  • Fresh bed sheets
  • Lighting new candles
  • Fluffy blankets
  • Train tickets
  • Train journeys
  • Orgasms
  • Seeing live bands
  • Finding new music
  • Meeting new people
  • Connecting with said people
  • New seasons on Netflix
  • Clean, dry pjs
  • Disney movies
  • Showers
  • Lazy Sundays
  • Lying down after a long day
  • Naps
  • Painting
  • Gardening
  • Something you ordered online arriving
  • Falling in love
  • The smell of bookstores/the library
  • Long car rides
  • Waking up happy
  • Thunder storms during a really hot summer
  • The deep breath you take after crying
  • Planning a party
  • Wide open windows in the summer
  • A proper 8 hours of sleep
  • Arriving at the beach
  • Days out
  • Shopping sprees
  • The first hot day of the year
  • Hugging someone you haven't seen in a while
  • Learning another language
  • When children draw you pictures
  • Phoning a friend
  • Spending time with your mother
  • The window seat on an airplane
  • Pens that write really, REALLY well.
  • When you realize things aren't always as bad as they seem
  • The anticipation for something you've been waiting for finally coming up
and last but not least:
  • Coming to the realization that you are living your life for you, and no one else.
I hope this list has brought some happiness to you if you're having a bad day, or maybe it's just reminded you to go phone that friend you've been thinking about phoning for a week, but haven't gotten round to yet because you've just been so busy.

Take some time, notice the little things, and realize how happy it all makes you.

See you next time, then.

Mothering Sunday

Hello, lovelies!

So as all my readers in the UK are already aware of, today is Mother's Day. A day that you get to completely spoil the most important woman in your life.

My mother is my hero. She has raised me on her own since I was young (and if I do say so myself she couldn't have done a better job.) Coming through everything she's been through stronger than I could ever imagine, and still managing to deal with a teenage daughter going through some of the toughest things you could ever throw at a girl? My mum deserves a medal. Seriously.

This is just an appreciation post for the strongest, bravest, smartest, most gorgeous woman. I couldn't be more proud to call her my mum, my best friend, my partner in crime. We're so alike it's scary, in the things we say to the way we dress, even to me being mistaken for her on the phone.

She's taught me how to be strong, independent, how to love life regardless of what you're going through, that self love is more important than the love of anyone else, accepting and knowing yourself is more important than the opinions of others, how to have my own voice and my own opinions, and how to be the young woman I always wanted to be when I was a child.

Without my mum I can honestly say my life would be nowhere near as good as it is now. I will be forever grateful for her, because not only did she have the strength to raise me, I don't think anyone else would get up at 3am and talk me down from a panic attack so calmly.

Please, remind your mother how much you love her today. Remind your aunts, and grans too, every woman who has been a part of bringing up this smart, sophisticated, strong generation of women deserve thanks on this day.

Mum, I love you.

I'll see you next time, then.
