Cornwall: A Photo Diary

Hello, lovelies!

Wow, been a while, huh?

Just a quick little photo diary of my holiday in Cornwall this week. It was my first time there in almost 6 years, and I wish I could find words to say how much I had missed it. Fresh air, stars, sea-side, and amazing fudge, Cornwall really is one of the most beautiful places.

I was down visiting my best friend for her birthday, and even though a 10 hour train ride each way seems like some form of modern torture, it was the most relaxing week I've had in a long time.

Becoming A Mother... Kind Of.

Hello, lovelies!

If you're wondering why I appeared to have dropped off the face of the Earth, it is because I have become a mother. Well, kind of. I got two kittens. But they're hard work, I'll have you know!

Their names are Pepsi and Poppet, and they're just the sweetest little boys in the whole world. In fact, Poppet is asleep on my lap whilst I write this.

Poppet

Pepsi

As I'm planning to move into my own flat sometime early next year, my mum and I figured that getting me two kittens now and having them almost a year old by the time I move would be the best bet, rather than have me trying to get everything sorted AND trying to litter train them (although, silver lining - these little angels picked it up so quickly I needn't have really worried.)

Of course, since they're babies, they haven't slept a whole night through yet, so I'm pretty much up every couple of hours with them, but they're so cute, I can't be mad at them.

So, yes, I just thought I'd update you guys and let you know that I haven't disappeared, I'm still kicking, and I'm somewhat an adopted mother now.

I'll see you next time, then.

Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease Hair Mask Review

Hello, lovelies!

I apologize for my absence, as usual things got super hectic, my laptop broke and I was busy seeing concerts and being ridiculously unwell, but I'm back!

What a better come back than a Lush review, am I right?

I picked this up the last time I was in my local Lush store, as I'm looking to improve the condition of my hair before I cut it all off to donate it to The Little Princess Trust. The woman I dealt with in the shop was incredibly helpful and lovely, and as soon as I told her my plans, she swiped this up off the shelf.

For roughly £10.98 the jasmine and henna fluff-ease treatment is fantastic for more red toned, fluffy/curly, dry hair. I naturally have very dry, curly hair, and this has managed to keep it at bay with blow-drying, and paired with some Argon oil I've had absolute no trouble with dry ends the past few times I've washed my hair, and I've only used it twice!

It recommends that you only keep it on for 20 minutes, but if you want a serious deep treatment you can keep it on for as long as you like - the woman who sold me it said she kept it on all night, her hair must love her.

After applying it thickly, and I mean thickly, I twist my hair up into a top-knot and go about whatever I'm doing. Usually it's just tidying, or I'll even go chill in a bath with a face-mask on and go all out with the self-pampering. I leave it on for roughly an hour to two hours, just letting it work its magic in the absolute birds nest I call my hair. Washing it off is as simple as it could get, run your hair under warm water and the shampoo and condition as normally, easy as pie!

Over all, I was skeptical about Lush's hair masks before I tried this, but I now have nothing bad to say against them. Or, this one at least.

Quick, short, and sweet. Much like myself.

I'll see you next time, then.

Spring Look Book 2015

Hello, lovelies!

Since the good weather has decided to make an appearance, I roped one of my friends into helping me shoot my Spring look book, because if I didn't, who knew when the good weather would be back for long enough for me to get this done.

I won't ramble, I'll try to keep this short and sweet, and I'll try to keep a majority of it pictures, but here we go!

Outfit 1

Blinded by the very rare Scottish sunshine!

My dungarees are from Primark (seriously, such a steal at only £14,) my shirt is from New Look, and my shoes are converse.

 Outfit 2

I posted about this shirt in my "What's In My Carry On" post, so if you want the link for it, it's there, and I paired it with a pair of thigh high socks, and my chunky New Look boots.

Outfit 3

Outfit 3 is my high waisted denim shorts from about three years ago, (thank you, eBay,) paired with a cut up Iron Maiden top, my black vans and a floaty, flouncy, rather summery cardigan type... thing. Primark, again.

Outfit 4

Again, I've posted about these jeans before! In my Anna Saccone inspired OOTD, so all the details on them are there, but the top is also from New Look, and the shoes this time are from Bank, who unfortunately no longer have a website, but still have a few little stores open around the UK.

Outfit 5

The top in this outfit is from New Look, I got it as part of a dress/crop top set but I know they do them on their own for about £4. My jeans are from Boohoo, and my shoes are converse, again.

Well my loves, that's my Spring 2015 look book! I'm sorry if the photos are a bit all over the place, blogger has a serious issue with them apparently.

Regardless, I hope you enjoyed, and if you would rather see this in video form, you can find it on my YouTube channel which is linked at the side of my blog, or I'll put the video down below!

I'll see you next time, then.

The Little Things

Hello, lovelies.

Life for me recently has been nothing but stress on top of stress, on top of travelling, on top of just general busy life. Sometimes when things get really hectic I find it hard to concentrate on the little things that make every day special and worth getting out of bed for.

I guess I'm making this post as a reminder to myself, and to you, that every day is filled to the brim with little bits and pieces of beautiful that add into one big picture, one big crazy, hectic, gorgeous, colourful, loud, wild, roller coaster of a picture.

So, without further babbling, here is the aforementioned list:

  • Fresh bed sheets
  • Lighting new candles
  • Fluffy blankets
  • Train tickets
  • Train journeys
  • Orgasms
  • Seeing live bands
  • Finding new music
  • Meeting new people
  • Connecting with said people
  • New seasons on Netflix
  • Clean, dry pjs
  • Disney movies
  • Showers
  • Lazy Sundays
  • Lying down after a long day
  • Naps
  • Painting
  • Gardening
  • Something you ordered online arriving
  • Falling in love
  • The smell of bookstores/the library
  • Long car rides
  • Waking up happy
  • Thunder storms during a really hot summer
  • The deep breath you take after crying
  • Planning a party
  • Wide open windows in the summer
  • A proper 8 hours of sleep
  • Arriving at the beach
  • Days out
  • Shopping sprees
  • The first hot day of the year
  • Hugging someone you haven't seen in a while
  • Learning another language
  • When children draw you pictures
  • Phoning a friend
  • Spending time with your mother
  • The window seat on an airplane
  • Pens that write really, REALLY well.
  • When you realize things aren't always as bad as they seem
  • The anticipation for something you've been waiting for finally coming up
and last but not least:
  • Coming to the realization that you are living your life for you, and no one else.
I hope this list has brought some happiness to you if you're having a bad day, or maybe it's just reminded you to go phone that friend you've been thinking about phoning for a week, but haven't gotten round to yet because you've just been so busy.

Take some time, notice the little things, and realize how happy it all makes you.

See you next time, then.

My First Tattoo

Hello, lovelies!

Yesterday I got my first tattoo! A little Hidden Mickey on the back of my neck. Disney has always had the biggest place in my heart, having been my escape from depression, eating disorders, my family breaking up, bullying, and so many more other awful things that life decided to throw at me. I use the movies and soundtracks to distract myself, cheer myself up and make me feel empowered, like if the characters could get through whatever hardships they're going through, I can get through whatever I'm going through.

I've been planning my tattoos since I was 14, and I knew that at least one of my tattoos would be Disney themed. Honestly, I'm glad it was my first one.

My friend Eve came with me for moral support (which turned into her taking photos of me through the glass between the waiting room and the studio.) But all in all, she really did make me feel better about the whole thing. She said she was more nervous than I was, that she was sat in the waiting room feeling sick with nerves for me, so I think she took all of my nerves away from me.

Pre-tattoo excitement!

My artist is a man who did all of my Mum's tattoos, so I trusted him straight off. He made me feel at ease, and eventually had to tell my mum and Eve to get away from the door because they were making me shake. I honestly wasn't nervous until he put the transfer on, then I was - pardon my language - absolutely shitting myself.

It only took about five minutes to do, and once I got used to the sensation of the gun, it was completely fine. It stung a little when it got nearer the bone, but that's the same with every tattoo. Taking the wrapping off when I got home was so exciting to me, I had Eve stood ready with the camera and Mum had the Bepanthen at the ready so she could clean it.

I've spent the last 24 hours sat on my dressing table, looking in the front camera of my phone to see how gorgeous it is in the mirror. I'm totally in love, and I don't think I could ever explain how much this tattoo means to me. It's my own little personal reminder that when things get awful, I always have something to escape to. It's the start of a better life for me, a happier, more confident life.

After all, it all started with a mouse.

I'll see you next time, then.

MarHasThatBow Review

Hello, lovelies!

Recently, I stumbled upon the most gorgeous little independent store on Instagram. Does anyone else do that thing where you see a user liking your friends picture and you go and have a bit of a nosey? Well, that's what I done, and that's how I came across Mar.

Living in Florida, Mar has 4200 Instagram followers, most of which are obsessive Disney fans like myself, and all of which are IN LOVE with the hand-made, unique bows that Mar sells. She calls us her #Bowtifuls. Adorable, right?

I couldn't put off purchasing my own any longer, and the ever lovely Mar did give me a discount code, so I bought two!

The one that had caught my eye originally is the gorgeous big yellow Tinkerbell bow. I sometimes find it incredibly hard to find cute Peter Pan merchandise, so spotting the selection that Mar has was such a happy day for me.

Attached to a Crocodile clip, the bright yellow bow sports a gorgeous Tinkerbell cameo. I'm not usually a big fan of yellow, but thought I should try and come away from always wearing black since it's coming into Spring, so the bright colour matched with the green frame of Tink's cameo felt lovely and Springy, and also a great way to add a pop of colour to any outfit.

The second one I got was the most adorable bow I've ever seen in my life. Black and white, Mickey and Minnie with red accents, it's classic, it's simple and it's gorgeous. I wore it around my niece, and she's absolutely head over heels in love with them too.

With super fast delivery, and such friendly customer service, Mar really is an absolute sweetheart. Talented and a devote Disney lover too, obviously.

Safe to say I'll be making at least 9 more purchases from Mar, I'm already planning to give my niece a collection of them for Christmas, as well as buy myself some more!

Mar, I hope you have a fabulous time in Disney World, I'm extremely jealous!

Well, lovelies, that's it! I hope you enjoyed, and I really do suggest you go check out Mar's store, which I have linked above but will link again HERE

I'll see you next time, then.
